Introduction
Book of Atem is an Ancient Egyptian-themed slot. It focuses on the peaceful side of the oldest civilization. There are no signs of war, and you won’t encounter any mummy here. It is set against a lush, tranquil garden. The reels are colorful and hold several symbols that are brightly colored too. In terms of graphics and animations, the game is of the right quality. The soundtrack and sound effects are also relaxing, complementing the theme perfectly.
Features
Book of Atem is a 5-reels video slot with 10 paylines.Set up the bet level. The coin value, as well as the number of coins to wager on each line, can be adjusted. Symbols
On the reels of Book of Atem, you will find regular card symbols as well as icons that are related to the theme. The playing card symbols, 10, J, Q, K, and A, appear often but grant lower payouts. The theme-related symbols include lotus flower, cobra, hawk, pharaoh, and the Book of Atem, itself. The pharaoh is the highest paying symbol in the game.
In Book of Atem, the book is an all-important symbol. It serves as the wild and the scatter symbol. In the base game, it can substitute for all the other symbols that appear on the reels to help you get a winning combination from an otherwise winless spin.
As the scatter of the game, the book symbol is also the key to the free spins feature. You have to land three or more books anywhere on the reels to trigger the free spins. 10 free spins are awarded when the feature is triggered.
Before the free spins start, you will be required to choose a regular symbol to become a bonus symbol. If your selected symbol lands on the reels during the bonus rounds, it will expand to cover the entire reel. This can bring lucrative wins. If you are really lucky, you can earn as much as 5,000x your bet during these bonus rounds.
Summary
The mystery of Ancient Egypt is not limited to Cleopatra and all the treasures she is said to have amassed. It is great to find an alternative approach to the theme. Book of Atem from Microgaming is a beautiful slot. While it features a single special symbol, it is still a highly rewarding video slot.
