Introduction
Firstly, City Of Gold is a classic slot. It is also an Aztec-themed game. Microgaming is known for developing classic games that deviate a little from the regular fruit machines, and this is one of such.
While exploring a little bit of the ancient Native American civilization, City Of Gold remains true to retro design and gameplay. It is set against the backdrop of a temple, situated in the Amazon jungle. The graphics are decent, but the animations are minimal.
The sound effects are also in line with what you will expect from the average classic slot.
Features
City Of Gold is a 3-reels slot with a single payline right in the middle of the screen. The goal is to line matching symbols on the single payline or any other acceptable combinations for instant wins and activation of special features.
To get started, it is important to set up the best level to suit your budget. The betting range is between 0.25 to 10.00 credits per spin. The coin value and the number of coins to play with are adjustable.
Symbols
The symbols on the reels of City Of Gold are classic symbols, but they have been given a shiny makeover. They include the regular single, double, and triple BARs, watermelons, as well as Lucky 7s. To pay homage to the title and Aztec theme, there is a special golden bowl filled with all sorts of jewel that serves as a special symbol in the mobile casino game.
Like most classic games, City Of Gold doesn’t have most of the special symbols and features found in modern online casino slots.
Most classic players don’t expect these features, so it is understandable. There is a wild symbol in the game, however. The golden bowl that contains the jewels serves as the wild symbol of the game. It has the power to substitute for other symbols to complete a winning combination and multiply the resulting payout.
With a single wild involved in the winning combination, the price will be doubled. If two wilds combine are involved in a winning combination, the regular prize of the other symbol will be quadrupled. In addition to substituting other symbols, the special wild is also the top-paying symbol in the game. Finding three on the payline will award the maximum jackpot of the game, which is 1,600 coins.
Summary
Microgaming has released several wonderful slots with alternative themes that appeal to most punters. City Of Gold is one of many other games that are loved by both old-timers and new players. While there are no lucrative bonus rounds, the multiplier wilds can make the game a lot more exciting and rewarding.
