Gung Pow is an Oriental-themed video slot. It is specifically about China and its unique New Year celebration. Though the backstory is elaborate, the game’s design is minimalistic.

It has an uncluttered appearance, with a deep red background helping to keep things bright and beautiful. If you are conversant with the Chinese culture, you will know that the color red is associate with wealth and good fortune. In terms of graphics and animation, this is a decent game. The oriental sound effects are also theme-appropriate and inspiring.

Features

Gung Pow is a contemporary game. It features 5 reels and ditches the payline system for the contemporary 243 ways to win. You can adjust the coin value and the number of coins to bet to suit your budget.

Symbols

On the reels of Gung Pow, you will find two sets of paying symbols. The commonest symbols on the reels are the generic playing card symbols, including 9, 10, J Q, K, and A. The other set of symbols are related to the theme and include red lanterns, red envelopes, small firecrackers, as well as sparklers and rockets. Some of the symbols are special and will make gameplay more exciting and rewarding.

The Gung Pow Wild card is one of the first special symbols you will notice in the game. It can appear on the second and the fourth reel. It can substitute for all the paying symbols, except the scatter coins, to complete a winning combination. It is the ultimate link between a winless spin and a winning combination, helping you to keep your credit up.

Things can get a lot more exciting in Gung Pow when you land three or more of the scattered coins on the reels.

As a true scatter, the symbol can count regardless of the pattern it lands on the reels. In addition to the scatter win, three or more scatters on the reels will activate the free spin feature of the game. Here, you will be awarded an impressive 15 free spins. All wins you get in during the free spins will be treated with a 3x multiplier.

Gung Pow also has a gamble feature. This is an optional feature that you can use to boost any win you get from the base game. By guessing correctly the color of a card, you will double your payout. A wrong guess means you will lose the win you staked for the gamble game.

Summary

Gung Pow is a simple game, yet exciting. Though the symbol combinations don’t pay too much, the few game features can make the experience rewarding for most punters.
