Introduction

You can describe Highlander as a Scottish-themed slot, due to the way it is designed. More accurately, you can describe it as a cinematic-themed slot, since it is based on a movie. The misty Scottish hills form the background of the game and are adorned with lightning flashing across the sky.

This is in line with the theme of the game since the movie that inspired it was set on the Scottish Highlands and New York City. The game features high-quality graphics and animations, and the sound effects are perfect for the actions on the reels.

Features

Highlander Slot is a standard 5-reels video slot. In place of the traditional payline system, the game offers 243 ways to win. For a wonderful game like this, it is important that it is made open for all kinds of punters irrespective of their budgets. This is the case here as the minimum bet is 0.30 credits, while the maximum bet is a massive 500.00 credits per spin. This will particularly impress high rollers.

There are so many betting options in between the minimum and maximum bet; find what suits you, and hit the spin button. There is an Autoplay feature, too, if you want the reels to spin automatically, placing your bet over and over again. If you are feeling lucky and ready to go all-in, there is a Max Bet button to easily activate the maximum bet in your next spin.

Symbols

Most of the important symbols you will find on the reels of Highlander are characters from the movie, including Connor McLeod, Brends Wyatt, and the Kurgan. In addition to the paying symbols, there are special symbols that are responsible for the game features.

To enjoy free games, you have to watch out for the green eye symbol that serves as the scatter of the game. When you find three or more of it on the reels, the free spins feature will be activated. The bonus round is played on a new background that depicts New York City.

The free spins can bring meaningful reward, and the best part of the deal is the fact that it can be retriggered when three more scatters land on the reels.

Highlander  also has a wild symbol that will substitute regular paying symbols to complete and enhance winning combinations. They also help during the bonus rounds, appearing as quickening wilds when lightning strikes the screen. They will turn regular symbols into wilds and also turn the watcher symbols into wilds for more lucrative wins.

Summary

If you are a fan of film-themed slots, Microgaming has a great game for you in Highlander. This is a decent game that will impress most punters, even those that don’t care about movies and movie-related games.
