Lucky New Year Slot Machine Review, RTP% & Bonuses By Pragmatic Play

Have you ever heard that the Chinese do not celebrate the New Year with most of us in the other parts of the world? Well, this is a fact you can take home from this slot review. Pragmatic Play is known for going the extra mile to create games that touch on topics some developers are not too eager to explore, and Lucky New Year is one of such games.

Introduction

In addition to celebrating the Chinese New Year, the game also celebrates individuals born under the sign of the dog I Chinese Zodiac. You don’t need to know so much about these topics before playing. It is an optimized HTML 5 slot game, making things smooth and easy for those who want to play slot machines.

As stated in the introductory part, this is a Chinese-themed video slot. As you can tell from the name, it is all about the Chinese New Month, which is somewhere in February. It is perfectly designed to celebrate the holiday, and every slot player who is comfortable with Asian-themed slots (most punters) will find everything about it soothing.

The graphics and animations are top-notch, and the sound of folk instruments playing in the background keeps the atmosphere lively all through. The game plays smoothly across different devices, including smartphones and tablets running on Android and iOS.

Features

Lucky New Year is a standard 5-reels video slot with 25 fixed paylines. The bet level can be configured by adjusting the coin value from 0.01 to 0.50 and also choosing the appropriate number of coins to wager on each line from 1 to 10. It is, therefore, suitable for all kinds of punters as the minimum bet is 0.25 while the maximum bet is 125 credits per spin.

While there are regular card symbols (Jack, Queen, King, and Ace) on the reels of Lucky New Year, the high-value symbols are thematic. They include firecrackers, drums, and mandarin oranges. The highest paying symbol in the game is the golden dog symbol.

It also serves as the wild symbol in the game, substituting for all other symbols in the game, except the scatter and bonus symbols, to complete winning combinations.

Finding 3 to 5 of the symbols on any payline will get you 25 – 500x your coin size. The Chinese dragon offers the same value. To enjoy free games in Lucky New Year, you need to find the scatter symbols on the reels. This special symbol can land on reels 1, 3, and 5.

Getting three or more at the same time will trigger 5 free spins, as well as a scatter payout of 1x your total-bet.

The free spin feature in this game is unique. While the first and fifth reels spin normally, the second, third, and fourth reels spin together with a giant symbol that covers a 3×3 grid for bigger wins. By getting three or more scatters during the free spins, you will get three extra spins.

Money Respin Feature

Lucky New Year also has a Money Respin Feature that is activated by the special Chinese lantern symbols that appear with prizes written on them. Getting 6 or more of these symbols during a spin will trigger the feature and present you with respins that feature only the lanterns. If you are lucky to fill up the 15 positions on the screen, you will get the grand jackpot prize. If you are not so lucky, you will get all prizes won during the rounds.

Summary

Lucky New Year is a decent oriental-themed slot. The fantastic theme and the bonus features mean you can enjoy the gameplay and also earn decent rewards.
