Review Methodology – How We Rate

This review was done with the free demo game.

On April 6, I used my MacBook (Chrome) and my iPhone 17 Pro Max (Safari)’s 5G networks to test Mega Stellar by Red Rake Gaming.

I started at 2:31 PM EST with $1,000,000 and stopped at 2:42 PM EST with $999,860.

I lost $140 betting $2.00 per spin and spun the reels 100 times.

I recorded some of my MacBook session.

Launch & Loading Performance

I tested how long it took to launch the game and found that on my MacBook, it took 2 seconds, whereas on my iPhone it took 4 seconds.

Hardware Benchmarks & UX Testing

I tested the spin, stop, and turbo spin buttons, and everything seemed to work fine.

Holding the phone vertically was a much better experience than holding the phone horizontally.

I highly recommend playing this while holding the phone vertically.

I noticed after my session that my MacBook was hot and that it had used about 2% of its battery.

On the other hand, my iPhone stayed cool and showed it was using only about 1% of its battery life.

Comparison: Red Rake vs. Dragon Gaming

Feature Mega Stellar (Red Rake) Kung Food Panda (Dragon Gaming)
Software Weight Lighter Choice Heavier Choice
Hardware Demand Standard VRAM High VRAM Requirement
Core Visual Expanding Wilds Jumbo Symbol Assets

Compared to Kung Food Panda by Dragon Gaming, I liked Mega Stellar better because it’s lighter and features an expanding wild, whereas Kung Food Panda is much heavier (it requires more VRAM).

⚠️ Friction Points Identified

2:31 PM – Game launch speed on iPhone was double the time of desktop (4 seconds vs 2 seconds).

2:35 PM – MacBook Air hardware began to run hot during the Chrome session.

2:42 PM – Noticed a 2% battery drop on MacBook compared to only 1% on the iPhone 17 Pro Max.

About Mega Stellar 🎰

If you want a unique online slot game that will stimulate your senses, the Mega Stellar slot machine may be what you’re looking for.

This slot game is among the many titles offered by Red Rake Gaming, a company that specializes in various slot machine genres.

You will surely enjoy the breathtaking experience brought by this exciting online slot game.

Regardless of your budget, the Mega Stellar slot machine can reward you significantly.

Let’s discuss the elements that make this game one-of-a-kind.

Otherworldly Design ₿

Some players may confuse this slot machine with another NetEnt slot called Starburst, which is not surprising given their similar designs.

However, these two slot machines differ in many aspects.

The Mega Stellar radiates an otherworldly vibe with its galaxy-inspired design.

From numerous planets to twinkling stars, this slot machine might make you feel like you’re out in space.

Not only that, the game’s reels are transparent, which makes the gameplay even more immersive.

With 5 reels and 10 payline slots, this online slot game has much to offer.

Players can view/set their bets, view their paytable, and review the last amount they won.

For those who want to test their luck, the game offers an ‘Autospin’ feature as well.

These are the symbols you’ll deal with as you play the game – ghostly dollar sign, ghostly ‘7’, ruby, crystal, sapphire, emerald, amethyst, and amber wilds.

Decent Returns

Although the Mega Stellar has a lower non-progressive jackpot than the others, the winnings you can get are still decent.

The slot machine can multiply your bet by up to 100.

Betting the maximum amount of $200 per spin lets you win up to $20,000 if you manage to line up five ghostly ‘7’ symbols.

Bonus Feature

One of the slot game’s most exciting features is the Stellar Wilds.

Whenever this bonus round activates, amber gemstones will replace all the other symbols on the affected reels.

The gemstones will appear from reel 2 to reel 4 and will cover the entire reel they’re featured on.

You are then given a free spin with these gemstones locked in place afterward.

The location where the Stellar Wilds spawn doesn’t matter since they will always expand.

Having gemstones present from reel 2 to reel 4 guarantees you big winnings.

Unlike other online slots, Mega Stellar awards its players if they land combinations from right to left.

In our 2026 5-reel test, Mega Stellar remains the benchmark when it comes to mobile performance on modern hardware.

Summary

Simply put, the Mega Stellar slot machine doesn’t offer huge winnings compared to other online slot games.

However, it features a high return to player (RTP) percentage, which is at 95%.

Many players report getting frequent, low-cost wins, encouraging them to continue playing.

The Stellar Wild bonus round and the ability to win from both directions are worth noting as well.

This particular slot game might not have as many features as the other games, but you should still consider playing it since the chances of winning are higher than the others.

Positive Notes

  • Lighter software weight allows for smoother play.
  • Stellar Wilds mechanic is very engaging.
  • Vertical mobile UI is best-in-class.

Negative Notes

  • Hardware heat issues on MacBook sessions.
  • Requires more VRAM for heavier rivals.
  • Slight mobile loading disparity.
